What I’m looking for you to do is engage in a discussion about the sections of the Shirley Letters that teach us something about what Gold Rush California was like. So please give at least two examples of evidence (that is to say, two pieces of evidence total, using two different letters) that you think help us understand the broader issues at play during the Gold Rush.
