Learning Goal: I’m working on a databases report and need support to help me learn.This research study will determine if Traditional Acupuncture and Trigger Point Dry Needling (TPDN) can be used interchangeably on the signs and symptoms in subjects with TMD.Methods and MaterialsThis was a double blind, randomized study using randomization to allocate the different treatments, Traditional Acupuncture and TPDN on subjects with a history of Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD).Twenty eight subjects whom met the inclusion-exclusion criteria with TMD were recruited for this study. Subjects were assigned randomly to two groups of treatment Traditional Acupuncture and TPDN.Pain levels were measured using the 10 cm Visual Analog Scale (VAS).
